Recruitment for Vocational Education

15:00 › 17:00
VMA building, 5th floor, room 05/45, Rue Van Maerlant 2, Brussel.

In many European countries young people choose general upper secondary school, leaving the vocational educations as their second or third choice. At the same time, all forecasts expect Europe to lack skilled workers in the near future – in some member states even within a few years. How do we nudge young people to choose vocational education? Which initiatives work and which projects actually changes young peoples perception of vocational educations?

The Think Tank DEA, The Confederation of Danish Employers, The Danish Confederation of Trade Unions, The Danish Construction Association, and The Danish Vocational and Technical School Student Union are hosting a roundtable discussion on November 21st, which will aim at sharing best practices, ideas and inspiration within recruitment to VET; from role models and mentoring, to campaigns and craft education in basic education.

The event is part of the European Vocational Skills Week, and will take place Tuesday, November 21st, 15.00-17.00, VMA building, 5th floor, room 05/45, Rue Van Maerlant 2, Brussels.

Please register by email to Sidse Frich Thygesen, DEA at by 15.00 Friday, November 17th –note, that seats are limited and registration is essential and mandatory.
