European Commission hears about experiences of contractors, one year on from implementation of Construction Products Regulation

Construction unit head in DG Enterprise meets representatives of FIEC and the FP7 project ProductInfoX

Based on an article published in Byggeindustrien on 24/07/2014.

Norwegian software developer Cobuilder recently had the opportunity to talk about its information portal, designed to help contractors with the documentation that is required under the Construction Products Regulation, which came into force just over a year ago.
Cobuilder and Technological Institute – both based in Norway - accompanied FIEC to a meeting with Head of Unit B1, Marzena Ragalska, to share  their experience and knowledge, gained through the EU projects Chemxchange and ProductInfoX.

Contractors in the EU are facing new regulatory requirements relating to documentation that needs to be issued by the manufacturer with their building materials. It can be difficult to understand exactly which documents need to be obtained and kept. The project ProductInfoX is developing a system that helps contractors to ensure they are using construction materials that are approved for use in the EU and in their countries, taking into account any specific national requirements.

Productxchange has over 3,500 users in the construction industry in Norway
