Water Resilience & Emerging Preparedness: Ahead of the FIEC Annual Conference, Paul Rübig presents video at the European Parliament

On 12 May, at the European Parliament, the Consultative Commission on Industrial Change (CCMI – in which FIEC is represented by its Director General Domenico Campogrande), the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) and the European Parliament launched a special event dedicated to advancing water resilience and sustainable infrastructure in Europe.

In this context, former MEP and EESC member, Paul Rübig, presented the premiere of the award-winning video documentary "Facing the Unknown". The video shares insights from the book “Emergency Preparedness” by Dr Paul Rübig and Dr Achim Kaspar. This highly impactful film examines critical challenges related to water resilience, sustainable energy, and infrastructure.

Stay tuned with FIEC’s Social Media and communication channels, as this week we will provide first-hand information, live insights and high-level interventions during the FIEC Annual Conference “Building Tomorrow: Solutions for Water Resilience and Blue Infrastructure” that will be hosted by FIEC’s Greek member, PEDMEDE, in Athens on 16 May.

Mr. Rübig will intervene as keynote speaker and participants will discuss about water scarcity, emergency management, water quality, on the state-of-play of the EU legislative framework, and on how the construction industry can prevent and provide solutions to these challenges.

The initiative forms part of the follow-up to the EU’s Blue Deal, and will provide an opportunity to reflect on the forthcoming EU Water Resilience Strategy and the Strategy for a Resilient Union, both vital for securing the well-being of Europe's citizens and economy.
