"Construction 2050 Alliance" tables main priorities for 2026
On 20th January, the Construction 2050 Alliance met with Barbara Bonvissuto, Director at DG GROW of the European Commission, in order to exchange on some of the main EU priorities impacting the construction eco-system.
On the one hand, the alliance discussed the “EU Affordable Housing Plan” and more specifically the “Housing Construction Strategy” aiming at boosting supply, mobilising investments, enabling the needed legislative reforms and providing support to the most vulnerable citizens. On the other hand, the meeting agenda focused on the Construction Products Regulation (CPR) Working Plan for 2026-2029.
The participants highlighted their willingness to contribute to make the High Level Construction Forum a key platform for keeping construction high on the EU agenda. Among the other key topics, there are the forthcoming “Construction Services Act”, aiming at facilitating the mobility of companies within the EU Single Market and the “Pact for skills”, aiming at mobilising stakeholders against the problem of lack of workforce and skills gaps/mismatches.
Support was confirmed to the “Pact for skills” and the alliance invited all the concerned stakeholders to sign the document by clicking on this link.
