On 28 September, FIEC sent to the European Commission its contibution to the second-phase consultation of the European social partners on a Quality Jobs Act.

This consultation focuses on the following topics:

- Algorithmic management and Artificial Intelligence at work;

- Occupational safety and health at work (revision of the Workplaces Directive, telework, psychosocial risks, risks related to climate change);

- Protection of workers’ rights in subcontracting chains;

- Just transitions;

- Enforcement and role of social partners.

Overall, FIEC believes that the focus of any EU actions in the areas touched upon in this consultation should be on implementation, enforcement, practical guidance and monitoring of current legislation rather than creating new legislative obligations. Any new initiative should be carefully assessed and aligned with the simplification and competitiveness objectives.
