The EXCEL4HOUSING4.0 consortium is pleased to announce its first Thematic Workshop on Skills & Labour Market Needs in Construction. The event will be held online on the 23^rd June 2026, from 11:00 to 13:00 CET. The thematic workshops are organised within the framework of the Erasmus+ Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) with the overarching objective of strengthen Business–Education Partnerships across the European construction sector.

EXCEL4HOUSING4.0 is a European CoVE project that brings together Vocational Education and Training (VET) providers, higher education institutions, companies, and other key stakeholders to strengthen skills development and innovation in the housing and construction ecosystem. The project aims to better align training provision with current and emerging labour market needs, support the green and digital transition of the sector, and promote work-based learning, mobility, and long-term business–education cooperation.

This first Thematic Workshop brings together all thematic working group areas under a single forum, creating a space for cross-sector dialogue. Participants will work together to validate existing skills gaps, identify emerging needs, and define priority areas for training and professional development. The outcomes will directly inform the strategic direction of the EXCEL4HOUSING project and contribute to a broader European agenda for skills development in construction and housing.

The insights gathered during the session will feed directly into the development of training resources, partnership frameworks, and policy recommendations that will shape the sector for years to come.

The workshop is open to a wide range of stakeholders who play a role in the construction and housing ecosystem, including construction companies and SMEs, VET providers and universities, sector associations and chambers of commerce, and labour market bodies and policy stakeholders at local, national, and European levels. The thematic workshop is designed to welcome new voices and perspectives.
