FIEC Statistical Report 2025 now live: Construction in a Year of Transition
FIEC publishes its position on the Renovation Wave today, with a detailed document that responds to the many aspects covered in the Communication, published last October. In short, FIEC supports the overall approach, but remains cautious about some measures, including the proposed revision of the Energy Performance in Buildings Directive (EPBD 2018/844). Stressing the need for industry involvement in the setting of Mandatory Minimum Energy Performance Standards and material recovery targets, FIEC calls for material and technology neutrality to be maintained. It also calls on the public sector to take the lead, by launching its own renovation effort, identifying public buildings for immediate improvements.
