FIEC welcomes the ''Fit for 55'' package defining a structured legislative framework to reach the EU climate objectives. Support is expressed also to the flexibility provided for the implementation of the different measures that will allow Member States to set the most adequate predictable targets according to their national specific needs. FIEC has considered how this policy will have strong impact on the construction supply chain.
The construction sector is fully committed to reducing its own carbon footprint and enabling other industries and consumers to contribute to the decarbonisation targets by providing a sustainable built environment, from alternative fuels infrastructure to buildings energy efficiency.
