New! Digital Maturity tool the Construction sector

The DIG-IN-KPI AAT tool is an innovative digital self-assessment platform developed with EU funding to promote digital transformation in the construction sector. This is a valuable resource for construction companies - contractors, engineering companies and also vocational training institutions - who want to assess and improve their digital maturity. FIEC's member, the Chamber of Construction and Building Materials of Slovenia, was one of the main contributors to the DIG-IN-KPI-AAT tool.

FIEC supports the dissemination and use of this tool. Stakeholders' participation will help to collect comprehensive data on the digital maturity of the construction sector, which will ultimately contribute to the development of tailored digital transformation strategies.

The DIG-IN-KPI AAT tool has several advantages compared to the maturity scan tool developed by the European Commission at the end of 2023. It offers a more comprehensive and detailed analysis, tailored specifically to the construction industry, providing more actionable insights and customised recommendations.

We are pleased to present the DIG-IN-KPI AAT tool available at this link: dig-in-kpi.aat4.eu

How to Use the DIG-IN-KPI AAT Tool

  1. General Information:
    • Start by answering general questions about your organization.
    • Familiarise yourself with 39 digitalisation indicators provided in the tool.
  2. Understanding Indicators:
    • Read the description of each indicator carefully. Detailed descriptions are accessible by clicking on the info button next to each indicator. It is crucial to review these descriptions to understand what each indicator represents fully.
  3. Assessing Digitalisation Levels:
    • Select the level of digitalisation that best matches your organization for each indicator. Choose the level that you fully achieve. Do not select levels that you only partially meet.
    • Indicate both the current year's level and the level you aim to achieve in three years.
  4. Tool and Data Input:
    • For each indicator, specify the tool or system you currently use to perform the tasks described. This input is optional but recommended.
  5. Generating Your Report:
    • Upon completing the assessment for all indicators, you will receive a report via email. This report will include visualisations, a thorough analysis of your results, and personalized recommendations to help you improve your digital maturity.
    • Ensure you answer all questions, as incomplete responses will prevent the report from being generated.

Key Features of the DIG-IN-KPI AAT Tool
  • Multi-language Support: Available in English, Croatian, Slovenian, and Macedonian. By using Google Chrome or other browsers with automatic translation features, the tool can be useful for all countries in Europe. We suggest selecting English as the language for filling out the form and generating the PDF report for easier translation using commercial tools like DeepL, ChatGPT, and others.
  • Automated Assessment: The tool converts your inputs into a detailed report with actionable insights.
  • Personalized Recommendations: Tailored advice to enhance your digital processes and practices.
  • Time-efficient: Completing the assessment takes approximately 15-20 minutes, with the option to save progress and return later.

Why is the DIG-IN-KPI AAT a useful tool?
  • Benchmarking: Compare your organisation's digital maturity against industry standards.
  • Improvement Strategies: Identify areas for improvement and receive practical recommendations.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Involve IT application developers and educational institutions in the digital transformation journey.
  • Data-driven Decisions: Use comprehensive data to inform strategic decisions and investments in digital tools.

Impact and data utilisation

The more organisations complete the assessment, the more representative the data on digital maturity in the construction sector will be there. Aggregated data will be analysed within the FIEC Working Group "Construction 4.0", and outcomes will be shared with relevant the European Commission's stakeholders. This data will be presented in a report on the project website. The report will showcase average digital maturity levels across different domains and indicators, categorised by country and company size.
