

On 19 June, in Serralunga d’Alba (Cuneo, Piemonte, Italy), ANCE Piemonte & Valle d'Aosta held its Assembly discussing "Solutions for housing needs and urban regeneration", and Europe's construction sector competitiveness.
Among other speakers, guests and experts, a session hosted interventions with FIEC representatives:
- FIEC President Piero Petrucco
- FIEC Director General, Domenico Campogrande
- FIEC Vice-President for "Sustainability", Paola Malabaila (and event moderator)
and Flavio Monosilio (ANCE, FIEC's Italian member federation)
During the roundtable, they providing answers to key questions, such as:
- Looking at the European context, what are the strategic priorities that the Italian construction system should pursue in the coming years
to remain competitive and sustainable;
- At European level, which tools and policies does FIEC consider most effective to support urban regeneration and sustainable construction?
- How can Italian companies in the construction sector seize the
opportunities offered by the EU Green Deal and EU funding programmes?

"The construction sector often suffers the financial weaknesses of those who should make investments,
hence the need for structural public funding. A sustainable model is needed to ensure efficient and affordable housing to most vulnerable groups. And the EU offers tools and regulation to modernise the industry, and let the transition happen.”
