New! Healthy Workplaces Campaign 2026-2028: “Together for mental health at work"

Promoting health and safety at the workplace remains a permanent priority for construction companies. This include mental health and psychosocial risks, which affect many people across all Member States. The mental well-being of construction worker is of great importance, and measures to address this issue have already been put in place. However more must be done to raise awareness about these risks, their prevention and management.

The 2026-2028 Healthy Workplaces Campaign "Together for mental health  at work" aims to raise awareness about the impact of psychosocial risks, to demonstrate the importance of preventing and managing psychosocial risks and promote the creation of supportive, inclusive, and mentally healthy work environments across all sectors.

This campaign will focus on five priority areas: risk management, harassment and violence, physical risks, health and social care and mental health.

These issues are also a top priority in the framework of FIEC's Social Dialogue at EU level. In 2019, FIEC and EFBWW concluded an EU funded project on mental health in construction, with a report and guidelines for construction employers and workers. Between 2026 and 2028, FIEC will also be leading the Mind@Work project, in close cooperation with the European Employers' Institute. This project is designed to promote mental health in the workplace from the viewpoint of employers and their organisations and to equip them with practical tools, knowledge, and policy guidance to better prevent and manage psychosocial risks at work.

In this respect, the OSHA Campaign constitutes a very useful framework and, as longlasting partner of OSHA campaigns, FIEC will be actively involved to continuously progress towards its goals and to ensure that no one is left behind, in particular SMEs.
